- Video Kit allows you to view live video from a video input source. It also
- allows you to perform editing on the captured image. Video Kit promotes most of
- the features for Video Blaster like color keying and image capturing.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Using Video Kit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- This section provides you with steps on how to use the Video Kit application
- efficiently. It is organised as follows :

- 1. Capture a video image

- 3. Print a video image

- 4. Copy video image to Clipboard

- 5. Export video to another window

- 6. Change the color settings

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1. Capture a video image ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- Allows you to save the video image to a graphics file. Currently the supported
- file format is only OS/2 Bitmap.

- To save a video image :
-
- 1. Click in the tool bar.
-
- 2. The Save file dialog box appears.
-
- 3. Enter a filename at the filename entry field for the image to be saved.
-
- 4. Click the OK button.
-
- 5. The image is now save in the specified filename.
-

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.2. Load a captured image ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- Allows you to open a graphics file and load the image on the video screen.

- To load a captured image :
-
- 1. Click in the tool bar.

- 2. The Open file dialog box appears.

- 3. Enter the filename of the graphics file to be opened.
-
- 4. Click the OK button and wait.
-
- 5. The image is now loaded onto the video screen.

- 6. To display the live video again, you can unfreeze the video.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.3. Print a video image ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- Allows you to print the video image in the video screen by using the Print
- command in the File Menu.

- To print a video image :
-
- 1. Ensure that the printer is setup properly before printing.
-
- 2. You can use Print Setup command in File Menu to configure the printer
- settings like correct paper size, orientation of the printing, etc.
-
- 3. Select the Print command from the File Menu.
-
- 4. The Print dialog box appears.
-
- 5. Enter number of copies to be printed.
-
- 6. Click the OK button to start printing.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.4. Copy video image to Clipboard ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- To copy image to Clipboard :

- 1. Click in the tool bar.

- 2. The video image is copied to the clipboard.

- 3. To view the image on clipboard, you can use the OS/2 Clipboard Viewer.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.5. Export video to another window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- Allows you to export video to another application window. It demostrates the
- color keying capability in the Video Blaster SE.

- To export video :
-
- 1. Click in the tool bar.

- 2. The mouse pointer is changed to

- 3. Move the mouse pointer to another window where the live video is to be
- displayed.
-
- 4. Click the left mouse button.
-
- 5. The video image is exported to the selected window.
-
- 6. The mouse pointer returns to the default one.

- 7. To display the live video back to the video screen, click in the tool
- bar again.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.6. Change the color setings ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- Allows you to modify the color attributes of the video image to your
- preference.

- To adjust the color settings :
-
- 1. Click in the tool bar.
-
- 2. A dialog box appears.
-
- 3. Click the YES button to open the Video Blaster Setup program.
-
- 4. The Video Blaster Setup program is opened.
-
- 5. Change the color settings for the video image.
-
- 6. Close the Video Blaster Setup Window after use.

- 7. The Video Kit program will be re-opened.

- Open an existing bitmap file and load the captured image onto the video
- screen. The video image will be freezed.

- SAVE
- Save a video screen image to a bitmap file

- Print the content of the video image using the current selected printer.

- Configure the printer before printing.

- The Edit Menu offers OS/2 clipboard functions such as Cut, Copy and Paste.

- CLEAR
- Erase video image from the video screen and leave the entire screen black.
- User can display the live video again by clicking

- Paste the content of the Clipboard onto the video screen.

- The View Menu allows you to change the appearance of the video image on the
- video screen. It includes command to perform video exporting on the video
- screen and turn on/off the Tool Bar and the Status Bar window.

- FREEZE
- Freeze or Unfreeze the video image in the video screen.

- The Tool Bar consists of graphic buttons for frequently used menu commands. It
- can be a toggle button or normal pushbutton.

- A brief description on each button is as follows :
- Open a bitmap file with a .BMP extension.
- Save the video image to a file.
- Cut the video image from the video screen and transfer to the clipboard and
- clear the video screen.
- Copy the image from the video screen to the clipboard.
- Paste the clipboard contents to the video screen.
- Freeze or Unfreeze the video image in the video screen.
- Export the video image to another application window.
- Opens the Video Blaster Setup program to set the color settings for the video
- image.
- Access online help information for Video Kit.

- ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Status Bar ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

- The Status Bar can be toggled between the status information and the online
- help messages.

- By default, the Status Bar has three regions which display the status
- information about the Video Kit window. It will be displaying the online help
- messages when a menu item is highlighted.

- The three regions can be defined as follows :

- 1. Video State or Image Filename
- 2. Mouse Pointer Position
- 3. Size of Video Screen

- Video State or Image Filename
- Indicates the filename of a graphics file that is loaded. It shows the current
- status of the video image. The video image can be live or still.

- Mouse Pointer Position
- Indicates the mouse pointer position in the video screen.

- Size of Video Screen
- Displays the size of the current video screen.
