  14. 1. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
  15.  
  16.    To install Sound Blaster Updates, you require INSTALL.EXE,
  17.    INSTALL.PVL and an additional file that is card dependent.  (Refer
  18.    to the table below)

  31. 2. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
  32.  
  33.    To update your Sound Blaster software, follow the steps below:
  34.  
  35.      a. Copy all the files required (as shown in section 1) onto a
  36.         floppy disk or a directory in your hard disk.
  37.  
  38.      b. Run the program INSTALL.EXE from the floppy disk or your hard
  39.         disk.
  40.  
  41.      c. Follow the program's instruction to complete the installation.
  42.  
  43.  
  44. 3. INSTALL's OPERATION
  45.  
  46. INSTALL will perform the following tasks:
  47.  
  48. a. Move all out-dated files that are no longer in use from your Sound
  49.    Blaster directory to the BACKUP directory.
  50.  
  51. b. Back-up all files that will be updated to the BACKUP directory.
  52.  
  53. c. Install updated programs to your Sound Blaster directory.
  54.  
  55. d. Verify and update the files WINSETUP.INF and OEMSETUP.INF if
  56.    necessary.
  57.  
  58. If you choose to update the drivers in your Windows directory, the
  59. program will perform the following tasks:
  60.  
  61. a. Remove all out-dated drivers that are no longer in use from your
  62.    Windows directory.
  63.  
  64. b. Install updated drivers to your Windows directory.
  65.  
  66. c. Verify that the file SYSTEM.INI contains the correct name of the
  67.    Sound Blaster driver.
  68.  
  69. At the end of the installation, a log file SBUPDATE.LOG will be
  70. created in your Sound Blaster directory.  You may use a text editor to
  71. view this file.  Alternatively, follow the steps below:
  72.  
  73.      a. Change to your Sound Blaster directory.
  74.  
  75.      b. Type TYPE SBUPDATE.LOG and press <Enter>.
  76.

  78. 4. UPDATED FILES
  79.  
  80.     Note - BACKUP directory refers to the directory \BACKUP in your
  81.             Sound Blaster directory which will be created by INSTALL.

  84. For Sound Blaster 16 (Advanced Siganl Processor) users
