  1. Welcome to CDinaBox Version 1.5 for OS/2 2.x and above September 1995.

  3. This is a program to play audio CD's using MMPM/2.
  4.  
  5. The only file required to run the program is CDinaBox.exe .  This program
  6. will generate 2 files in the same directory as CDinaBox.exe. They are
  7. CDBox.Dat and CDinaBox.ini . CDinaBox.hlp is the help file only and is
  8. not required to run the program. MMPM/2 must be installed on the system first.
  9. CDBoxOut.CMD file can be used to remove CDinaBox from your hard disk. It
  10. will also remove the entry from the OS2.INI file.

  13. Coming in the near future is a World Wide Web Home page that will contain
  14. copies of the latest version, beta copies of new versions of CD in a Box
  15. and the new Data File Editor program, and DLL files for National Language
  16. Support.

  18. Installation.
  19. To install the program just copy the CDinaBox.exe and CDinaBox.hlp files
  20. to a directory of your choice and copy a program template from the
  21. template folder on the desktop to the location you want CDinaBox to be.
  22.  
  23. Upgrade Notes.
  24. If you are upgrading from a version prior to 1.5 then the first time you
  25. use each of the Control Panel's you will have to go to the system menu
  26. ( Top Left hand icon on the Control Panel ) and select "Default Size"
  27. so that the Control Panel will be redrawn to the new slightly bigger size.

  29. If you had a version of CDinaBox prior to 1.4 you can use the conversion
  30. program, CDBoxcvt.exe, to convert your CDinaBox.dat file to the new format so
  31. it can be read by the program. To run the conversion program just open an
  32. OS/2 command line and go to the same directory as CDinaBox.dat and run
  33. CDBoxcvt.exe /? for instructions.

  35. Features.
  36. Custom CD's - You can add track information to a CD to create your own CD's. 
  37.                      (Skip over the intro of a song or add tracks to a Disc
  38.                      that only has 1)
  39.  
  40. Track Status - Give each track a status ( Favorite, Ordinary or Horrible ) and
  41.                      only play the types you want to.
  42.  
  43. Icon Selection - Select your favorite icons to represent tracks of different
  44.                      types.
  45.  
  46. Track Views - View tracks in different views like a normal folder.
  47.  
  48. Control Panel - Hide the main window and use the Control Panel to run the
  49.                      player. Use the normal or mini Control Panel.

  51. Play Order - Play tracks at random, in the order you select them or by track
  52.                   status. 
  53.  
  54. Hold Mode - When in hold mode you can remove the CD from the drive to copy
  55.                   files from a data disc and then restore the music disc and
  56.                   pickup playing from the exact position you stopped at.
