- Display "You should now see a list of the 24 Drum sounds available to
- the left of the note grid in the Rhythm Editor Window."

- Display "Before you create our happening Twinkle Twinkle drum rhythm,
- let's take this opportunity to explore some of the features of the
- Rhythm Editor."

- Display "Experiment with the different sounds by using the right
- mouse button in any of the note squares."

- Display "Now click on a few of the grid squares to create some notes.
- Click on the 'Play' button (it has a right facing triangle on it) to
- play the rhythm."

- Display "Click on the 'Loop' button. It is just below the 'Play' button and
- has a looped arrow on it. The Drum Rhythm plays over and over. You can edit
- the notes as the Rhythm loops."

- Display "While the Drum Rhythm is looping, change the note resolution
- by clicking on the resolution scrollbar. This will allow you to enter
- some notes of different values."

- Display "Now press the Stop button to stop looping. You've seen how
- the note resolution can be changed to enter and delete notes of
- different values. Now let's look at changing note velocity (volume)."

- Display "Click on an existing note with the right mouse button. The note
- sounds."

- Display "Now click on the note with the right mouse button and hold
- the button down. To change the velocity of the note drag the mouse up
- or down while holding the right button. With each change in velocity,
- the note is replayed. Note the change in color of the note as you
- change its velocity."

- Display "Deeply colored notes are used to show louder notes, while less
- intensely colored notes are used to show softer notes."
-
- Display "Now locate the velocity scale. It is a series of boxes
- colored in different intensities of blue, located to the right of the
- note grid."

- Display "You can change the default velocity of newly entered notes by
- selecting various areas of this grid. A black rectangle is drawn
- around the current selection."

- Display "Try changing default velocities now, and enter notes of various
- velocities.

- Display "Just above the default velocity scale are the overall
- velocity editing buttons. There are two buttons, one with a blue
- triangle pointing up in it, and one with a blue triangle pointing
- down in it."

- Display "These are used to adjust all the velocities values in a
- Rhythm. Play your rhythm. Now click repeatedly on the lower velocity
- button. Play the Rhythm again to note the change in the overall
- volume of the Rhythm."

- Display "Now it's time to create a proper drum rhythm for Twinkle Twinkle.
- Locate the 'clear' button. It is on the right hand side of the window, near
- the bottom, in a group of 2 buttons. It has a picture of a tiny little
- squeegee on it. Next to it is a button with a lock on it."

- Display "To clear your test pattern, press the 'clear' button (the squeegee
- one). This clears all information for the currently displayed Drum Rhythm."

- Display "Click on the Drum Rhythm button to show the Drum Rhythm
- Palette Window."

- Display "Two sample Drum Rhythms have been provided for you. The one
- labelled 'Basic' just contains bass drum and snare notes that you can
- use as a starting point for building a more complex Drum Rhythm."

- that you can use to copy into the song, if you don't feel like
- cooking up a drum rhythm right now."

- Display "To audition a Drum Rhythm, click on it with the right mouse
- button. If you click the right mouse button again on a rhythm while
- it is playing, it stops playing."

- Display "If you want to use one of the sample Drum Rhythms as a
- starting point for your own, you can copy it to the Rhythm Editor. To
- copy a Drum Rhythm to the Rhythm Editor, click on it, hold the mouse
- button down, and drag it to the Rhythm Editor. Then release the mouse
- button."
