- A Little Help in Making Wad2 Texture Files
-
- Here's a bit of help for all of you who are having trouble making
- wad2files, like I was. It is geared towards Windows 95 users (I know,
- I know, but that's what I have!) The files in here are made to work with
- PCX2WAD by ac447@rgfn.epcc.edu. Thanx go to the maker (I couldn't find
- the name, sorry.). Anyway... here are the files:
-
- makewad.bat A simple little bat file I wrote, when I got tired of
- going to a dos propt to make my wad files. It reads
- script.txt, quake.pal and makes test.wad. Anyone
- could do it, but I thought it might be helpfull.
-
- palsize.bmp A picture that contains the quake palette in the upper
- right hand corner, and several square border sizes in
- multiples of 16. Use these to make your textures from
- scratch. I suggest useing paint (comes with win95).
- Use the 'Pick Color' tool to pick a color from the
- palette, and paint inside one of the borders. The
- borders are NOT part of the dimention, so don't keep
- them or draw over them.
-
- quake.pal The Quake Palet in pal form, used by the bat.
-
- script.txt The script file used by the bat.
-
- wad2help.txt Duh!
-
- Be sure to read the PCX2WAD txt and follow the instructions. All that aside
- , I hope this was of some help. Have fun.
