  3.                             NBA Jam Sounds Update

  7. [NOTE!!!  YOU MUST HAVE DMAUD v1.1 TO RUN THIS!  OR A NEWER VERSION IF A 
  8. NEWER ONE EXISTS BY THE TIME YOU READ THIS!  AND OF COURSE YOU WILL NEED 
  9. JAMSNDS.WAD!]
  10.            
  11.      This update has some .WAV files to update JAMSNDS.WAD.  
  12.  
  13. Just copy the .WAV files and JSUPDATE.BAT to wherever you have DOOM and the 
  14. original JAMSNDS.WAD file.  Type JSUPDATE.  It will then have DMAUD update 
  15. JAMSNDS.WAD.  When its finished, you can erase the .WAV files.

  17.    Here's what will be different after everything is done:
  18.  
  19.    1.  Before, when you picked up an item it would just say: "Yes!", now
  20.    it has the original "Bleep" sound mixed in.
  21.    2.  Before, when you picked up a weapon, it would again just say: "Yes!", 
  22.    now it has the original "Weapon Pickup" sound mixed in.
  23.    3.  Before, when someone got splattered by an exploding barrel, it would
  24.    just say "Its a blow out!", now it has the splattering noise mixed in.
  25.    4.  Before, when you killed someone it would say "Boom-Shaka-laka", "He's 
  26.    on fire!", etc without any groans, now it'll have the original DOOM moans 
  27.    and groans mixed in.
  28.    5.  Before, when you killed one of those pink Demons, it would just say
  29.    "Oh my!", now it has the original sound mixed in.
  30.    6.  Before, when you teleported somewhere, it would just say "From 
  31.    downtown!", now it has the teleporting sound mixed in.
  32.    7.  Before, when you got killed, it just said "Rejected!", now it has the
  33.    original death scream mixed in.
  34.    8.  Before.... Nah, thats all. Heh heh

  36.       Make sure you have the old JAMSNDS.WAD backed up somewhere in case you
  37. want the original NBA Jam sounds back.  Oh yeah, and one more thing, you CAN
  38. load more than one WAD file with DOOM.  So, if you wanted to play one of 
  39. those new WADs going around with NBA Jam sounds, just type:

  41. DOOM -FILE SPIT.WAD JAMSNDS.WAD
  42.
