- ... SAMPLE.RUN ...
-
- The purpose of this file is to allow you to get a quick look at
- what THE INTERSTATE TRAVELER can do. A more detailed description
- of the program can be found in the MANUAL.DOC file.
-
- ... INTRODUCTION ...
-
- THE INTERSTATE TRAVELER is designed for planning motor trips
- across the contiguous United States using the Interstate Highway
- System and roadways you add to the system. The final products of
- the program are an itinerary and an estimate of expenses for each
- day of the trip.
- Planning a trip involves specifying the route you want to take
- in a point to point manner. You specify an origin city, then each
- intermediate city or highway junction along the way, and a final
- destination.
- The program provides opportunities to stop for meals, gas, rest,
- visits, and overnight stays. At each overnight stop, you can print
- an itinerary and an estimate of your expenses for the day.
- You are provided with the means to add cities, towns, highways,
- and junctions to the screen maps. You can use these new features in
- the current run of the program only or make them a permanent part of
- the program data files.
- The program also provides individual maps of 40 selected cities.
- These maps show major highways; features, such as lakes and rivers;
- and points of interest. Information about population and local
- climate is also provided.
-
