- A formal will is a set of written instructions by which a person communicates
- how their property shall be disposed of after his or her death. One who writes
- a will is said to be a testator, or a testatrix if the person is female.
- In the case of death where a will has been created, that person is said to die
- testate. In the absence of a will a person dies intestate. A designee instr-
- ucted to handle the affairs of the estate is an executor or an executrix.
- A will or any part thereof may be revoked or altered by a subsequent written
- will, codicil or other writing, declaring such revocation or alteration;
- provided, that the same formalities required for the execution of wills under
- this law are observed in the execution of such will, codicil or other writing.
