- DESCRIPTION OF COMPUSTITCH
-
- CompuStitch is an easy and fun-to-use program for designing and
- printing cross-stitch patterns in your spare time. It works much like
- a simple word processor, except you create stitch patterns instead of
- sentences. The editor uses a few WordStar commands for compatibility
- and ease-of-use. This version features pull-down menus, six stitch
- types, three colors plus black, auto stitch, sound, screen dim, hot
- keys, 207 stitch combinations, and more. Laser printer and Microsoft
- mouse support is optional. Requires CGA, 256K, and DOS 3.0 or above.
-
- SETUP
-
- The first time you run CompuStitch you will need to run SETUP to
- configure the program to your computer and personal taste. The SETUP
- options are: Microsoft mouse, sound, screen dim, laser printer, and
- printer control codes. The printer control codes will be sent to the
- printer before and after each pattern is printed. If you have a 132
- column printer, you shouldn't need to enter any codes. If you have
- an 80 column printer, you will need to enter the control codes to start
- and stop compressed printing. Compressed printing is required because
- each line is 120 characters long. You may need to cancel the form feed
- on your printer to avoid blank sheets of paper between pages.

- change stitch types or colors by clicking on the icons appearing along
- the right hand side of the screen. Please note that the current color

- recommended. The only way to cancel auto stitch is to activate the
- options menu (Alt-O) and to press [Enter] on the first option (Auto
- stitch ON/OFF).
- When using the mouse to draw stitches on the grid, the left button
- will move the cursor to where the mouse arrow points and draw a stitch.
- The right button will move the cursor to the arrow point without draw-
- ing a stitch.
