  1. Explanation of the FORMAT command. 
  2. It is EXTERNAL.

  4. This command will initialize (format) 
  5. disks in the specified drive.
  6.  
  7. Example:
  8.        To format the disk in drive B as 
  9.        a 1.44 Meg disk and have the DOS 
  10.        system transferred to that disk
  11.        you would use the following command:
