  1. makeinfo converts TeXinfo source into a gnuinfo file
  2. 'makeinfo -h' gives a summary of command line options

  4. default info path set up is /etc/info
  5. default terminal type is acorn31
  6. (since gnuinfo calculates the screen size, the terminal
  7.  size specified in the termcap entry is ignored. acorn12
  8.  and acorn31 then become equivalent)

  10. !SmallTask (on an Acorn User cover disk) runs GnuInfo
  11.   perfectly (apart from speed of update).
  12. !Zap and !Edit's taskwindows can't cope with GnuInfo
  13. !VMode ran GnuInfo but *immensely* slowly AFAIR
  14.  
  15. GnuInfo also ran under the ANSI.SYS emulator module
  16. (from Hensa?) but slowly and with restrictions.

  18. printing nodes works by creating a temporary file and
  19. then doing DEFAULT_INFO_PRINT_COMMAND ("unixcat > printer: ")
  20. [unixcat taking input from stdin and dumping it to stdout]

  22. if anyone can get a termcap that can do actual
  23. reverse video, then I'd like a copy. I can't get it
  24. to work properly (hence the coloured status bar)

  26. lots of things crash GnuInfo at the moment (pressing
  27. backspace, starting with no command line arguments etc)
  28. I think it's to do with UnixLib (because I can't remember
  29. whether I used cc or gcc to compile it). If anyone can
  30. figure out why, I'd be grateful.
