- In the early eighties, I had (somewhat unofficial) access to the
- Manchester University Multics system, with a BBS system on it (can't

- 1kp was ten pounds sterling. So a new car costs about 500kp, a decent
- CD player about 20kp. The symbol "Mp" (megapence) was also used for
- 10,000 pounds sterling (e.g "My house cost 10Mp"), but this usage was
- not common among the student population.
