Find an old turntable at a flea market or junk shop.

There was a price guide out but I think the publisher is out of business.
Most 78's have no collecting value, particularly old pop, big band, jazz. I run a used record store and we used to have to include in some of our advertising a request that people with them not call us. There are an incredible quantity of them in attics (at least in Durham).
The bulk of those that are of value fall into these categories: pre-WW I opera, race & hillbilly (mostly 1930's), and early rock 'n' roll (LP's had come to dominate so the 78's pressings were of low volume & sought after by completists).
There is a dealer in Burlington who handles some 78's but he operates out of his house & I can't remember his name. I _think_ there is a shop in Charlotte called the Wax Museum.
