- I need to build a solid-state compass for a project I'm working
- on. I found plans for a solid-state compass in Don Lancaster's
- "Hardware Hacker" column, in the December 1988 issue of
- _Radio-Electronics_.
-
- The first thing I need to acquire is the fluxgate magnetometer. I
- figure it won't be TOO hard to construct myself, but I can't find the
- toroidal core for the fluxgate sensor. Don Lancaster lists it as a
- "Magnetics 50086-2F".
-
- If someone could give me the dimensions and composition of this
- core, then I can look for a substitute here in Toronto.
-
- Also, if anyone has built a solid-state compass, it would be nice
- to hear feedback, re: tricks, difficulty of fluxgate construction,
- etc.
-
- Please reply by email. If there is enough interest, I will post a
- summary.
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
