- Nasa knew full well how much dust to expect on the moon. Remember that we
- landed (I guess crashed is a better term) at least one Ranger probe long
- before Apollo. There was some worry about dust collected in depressions,
- but there was no expectation of more then 2 or 3 inchs of dust at any of
- the Apollo landing sights. Besides we had satalite dust measurements in the
- early 60s that predicted only a few inchs of dust.
