- I have to agree that trucks and other utility vehicles should not be
- exempt from from fuel economy figures - in fact, they should not be
- exempt from _any_ regulations that apply to standard cars unless the
- buyer can prove the vehicle will not be registered or used as a private
- vehicle. While I think the entire CAFE thing is stupid to begin with,
- failing to apply it equally leads to inequities and weirdness in sales
- patterns which is undesirable in itself, and I think it is responsible
- for a goodly amount of the switchover to trucks and sport-utes.
