  14. and short out their televisions, to control their minds so that they spend
  15. all their free time at home with their vacuum cleaners turned on, grooving
  16. on the sound and treating it like a bagpipe drone to which they hum chanter
  17. pipe tunes with a one-octave range, refusing to answer the phone or the
  18. doorbell, preparing no proper meals but heating things up in the microwave
  19. and munching vitamin tablets and not going to work and drinking vegetable
  20. oil and eating shortening by the spoonful for the sheer sliminess and caloric
  21. value of it, withholding defecation and urination as long as possible and
  22. then trying to return the feces and urine whence they came, shoving the crap
  23. back in with dessertspoons and little toy shovels stil crusted with sand
  24. and sea salt from that trip to florida last year, improvising catheters to
  25. channel the urine back into their bladders and shoving them up bleeding
  26. urethrae?
