- the other day, i was visited by a representative of some clean water or air
- group who was asking for contributions to her cause. she whined on and on
- about how certain companies were going to destroy the earth and other such
- nonsense. she insisted that i should be grateful for the wonderful service her
- organization would be providing me if i gave a donation. at the end of her
- emotional, yet obviously well-rehearsed speech, she asked me how much i wanted
- to contribute. i told her to wait right where she was while i got my donation.
- when i came back, i had a little surprise for her. i brought out a styrofoam
- cup and ignited a match beneath it. 'mmm, nothing smells quite like it', i
- said, inhaling the smoke. she, annoyed, moved on to the next house, her clogs
- banging noisily as she did so. hell, she makes more than i do, why should i
- give her my money?
