- We've all known for years that t.b. has a periodicity effect, which mr x
- keeps under careful control for us. However, I've just noticed that
- rec.humor.funny also has a similar problem. There are however some
- differences:
-
- a) t.b.'s periodicity is usually very funny, as it drags newbies
- and cave newts in like a toilet sucking in bog paper, whereas r.h.f.'s
- just means we see more old jokes, most of which weren't funny the first
- time we heard them. Or the second, third, fourth, fifth,....
-
- b) t.b.'s periodicity is such that we see material spin round in
- an ever decreasing time period, so that the repeated threads do stay
- vaguely topical. R.h.f's periodicity means we see the same turn of the
- century material time and time again (just look at Message-ID:
- <S4e8.3b40@looking.on.ca>, "Fun with Servants" to see what I mean).
-
- c) t.b. isn't moderated. If it were, no-one from LUT or PSU
- would ever get to post.
-
- Maybe we should get mr. x to have a look at rec.humor.funny and see what
- he can do with it. Dropping an A-bomb on Canada might be a good
- start... ;-)
