  13. the most peculiar event just occurred in the lab. i was sitting here
  14. trying to write something about elvis when the phone rang and andy
  15. (another grad student) answered it. it was a woman asking for jenn. this
  16. is not so weird except that there is no jenn in this lab nor has there
  17. ever been. my friend tries to convince her that there is no jenn here
  18. while wildly gesticulating with his hands, but to no avail. so, he gives
  19. the phone to me and i try to get out of her what number she dialed and if
  20. her friend was on campus. she was quite pleasant but didn't believe a word
  21. either of us told her regarding her friend. she finally told me her
  22. friends phone number, it is 531-1033. our lab phone number is 585-3110,
  23. but if you are on campus you can dial 5-3110. i surmised that she was
  24. indeed on campus and that she had failed to dial the 9 to get off campus.
  25. she finally hung up.

  27. of course, i couldn't let it end like this so i called up the number she
  28. gave me and asked for jenn. what do you know? she answered the phone! i
  29. said your friend just called here and she will be calling you soon. i want
  30. you to assure her she had the wrong number when she called here. she said
  31. she was on the phone with her now. i laughed and said bye. i wonder if i
  32. know this woman. should i have asked her out? i guess i could track her
  33. down since i have her friends number. am i getting obsessed? i wonder what
  34. color her hair is? i wonder if she's a mormon? i wonder if her feet taste
  35. good after a good hard run? will i ever have the answer to these
  36. questions? will this ever cease to plague me?
