- In article <gerald.728005233@gerald> gerald@torolab4.vnet.ibm.com (Gerald Oskoboiny) writes:
- > ``You eat your soup like a starving pack rat.''
-
- The appropriate response to this is:
-
- ``When did YOU ever see a starving pack rat eat soup?''
-
- Although the Stock Answer (tm) works well in any case.
-
- For the last few months, I've been answering all those random, idle
- questions that people ask you when they meet you in the hall with the
- same answer. You know the questions I mean:
-
- Hi, Dominus. How's it going?
- Hey, what's up?
- How've you been?
- What's new?
-
- The Stock Answer (tm) to each of these questions is
-
- ``None of your goddam business.''
-
- People laugh at this nearly every time, so it saves you from having
- to think of an answer. And because they think you're being funny, the
- stupid shits, they never realize that you're being rude to them. Even
- better, after people get used to hearing the Stock Answer (tm) from you,
- you can use it to distract them from questions you'd really rather not
- answer:
-
- ``Where the hell have YOU been all afternoon?''
-
- ``None of your goddam business.''
-
- ``Ho ho ho! Ha ha ha!''
-
- but then they never notice that you didn't actually answer the question.
-
- You need a slight variation in Gerald's example, but it's not hard
- to think of:
-
- ``You eat your soup like a starving pack rat.''
-
- ``It's none of your goddam business, so shut the fuck up.''
-
- ``Ha ha ha! Geez, Dominus, you kill me.''
-
- ``Ha. Drop dead.''
-
- ``Ha ha ha!''
-
- There you go. Better Living Through Casuistry.
