  11. very interesting tv documentary on the behaviour of the
  12. jewish settlers in the west bank and jerusalem (btw, the
  13. state of israel will not release data on the total number of
  14. houses built in any year to the outside world, despite
  15. the gouging of ten billion bucks from american pockets
  16. last year, for instance. rather rude, if you ask me.).

  18. the first snippet was a policy to restrict palestinians
  19. building land outside their own villages. as the massive
  20. amount of jewish settlement slowly builds a ring around
  21. these villages, what one has is the creation of many
  22. separate palestinian pockets. ghettoes, to name them truly.

  24. the second little item dealt with a bunch of about twenty
  25. jews who just walked into a fully furnished palestinian-owned
  26. house in jerusalem one day, and squatted in amid the owner's 
  27. jewelry, photos, personal effects, etc. etc., taking over
  28. eighteen of the twenty rooms. the interviewer asked the jewish
  29. leader what was going on. the man said that in fact they did buy
  30. the house from an arab. however, the subsequent trial revealed
  31. this to be an outright lie, and in fact they had been told by the
  32. israeli ministry of housing to undertake this action.
  33. this august body is financing many such groups in similar activities,
  34. it turns out. pure monty python; pure fascism, too.

  36. all this appears bizarre indeed, and, were it not for the human impact, i
  37. would be grinning very broadly indeed. i guess the twisted lesson to be
  38. learned here is that if you teach people first-hand about ghettoes and
  39. fascism, they will be doomed to re-inflict these disasters on others
  40. in their turn.
