  24. By no trivial coincidence, just this afternoon at the Ann Arbor 
  25. Public Library's annual book sale, i found a manual on ambulatory 
  26. surgery, dated 1947.

  28. i envy the ability of medical illustrators.  Since they are great 
  29. artists, they involve the viewer emotionally with an economy of 
  30. line and detail in inheritance of the old masters; one can actually 
  31. feel the carcinoma or bone fracture.

  33. As i fingered through the book, rich with photographs and illustrations, 
  34. the mailroom invoice fell out.  i have a forty six year old virgin 
  35. in my backpack.  i will study the chapter on genital surgery with
  36. great care and sensitivity towards its needs.
