  26. you see, you're looking at the problem
  27. all wrong.  moving the orbit of the earth
  28. inwards by 10 M miles or so should alter 
  29. the climate of the earth sufficiently to
  30. reduce the demand for furs to the point
  31. of unprofitablility.  any residual climactic
  32. alterations could be handled by manipulating
  33. the atlantic and pacific jet streams.

  37. of course there may be minor consequences,
  38. but there's nothing like a mild catclysm
  39. to bring nations together and to stimulate
  40. the domestic economy.
