  12. It took me rather longer than I would want you to believe or them 
  13. to know for me to realise that none of the women that I know well
  14. wears any makeup or jewellery.  No piercings -- that I know about
  15. -- nor any internal cosmetics -- that I know about -- either.

  17. Ah, well now; that is not entirely true.  Helen sometimes wears a
  18. wedding ring but she is not married so that is alright.  She says
  19. that she wears it for professional reasons, whatever that means.
