- The use of the feminine pronoun "her" merely reflects the fact that the ratio
- of unknown fathers to unknown mothers of illegitimate children is immense.
- In the unlikely case of a known father and an unknown mother, where the father
- is unwilling to "point the finger", the same penalties would of course apply
- to the father as would to the mother in the reverse scenario.
