  27. So?  You didn't get his point.  The existence of one woman with
  28. a problem is NOT evidence that abortion causes such problems,
  29. nor is it evidence that abortion is likely to cause such
  30. problems in women.  A sample of women self-identified as members
  31. of WEBA is NOT going to be respresentative of the general
  32. population.  A sample of ONE woman (NancyJo Mann) is even LESS
  33. representative of the general population.

  35. Women here in t.a try to make this point to you by applying your
  36. reasoning to pregnancy.  "We had bad experiences with
  37. pregnancy.  We're WEEP-- Women Exploited by Excruciating
  38. Pregnancy," they say.  "Therefore, Nyikos's reasoning leads us
  39. to conclude that pregnancy should be illegal."  Do you think
  40. your abortion argument is valid when applied to pregnancy?

  43. You can conclude nothing from the evidence of WEBA & NancyJo Mann.
  44. You need to look at studies done properly.

  46. The former Surgeon General of the US under Reagan, C. Everett
  47. Koop, concluded that the evidence didn't support the existence
  48. of "post- abortion trauma" or "syndrome".  He came to this
  49. conclusion despite strong political pressure to find such a
  50. syndrome, and despite his personal opposition to abortion.  He
  51. commented that if abortion is wrong, it's wrong because of what
  52. it does to the fetus, and not what it does to the woman.
