  25. Odd.  But most of what I've read indicates that the Vatican was
  26. heavily involved in assisting German Resistance groups involved in
  27. assassination plots against Hitler.  In any case, the Vatican took
  28. a position against Hitler and the Nazis very shortly after Hitler's
  29. rise to power.
