  33. I have apologized for lots of things, and Chaney is the only
  34. person I really leaned on in telling him to apologize.

  36. I do not apologize for things I have not done.  The reason
  37. Susan Garvin and Keegan are so insistent that I apologize
  38. is that they can then say forevermore that I admitted to libeling
  39. Adrienne.

  45. fall into an infinitely worse one.

  47. Actually, I am so naive that I only figured this out a month after
  48. all these bandwidth-wasting repetitions were going full blast.  What
  49. saved me from the trap was my basic sense of honesty and fair play.
  50. I know I am innocent of charging Adrienne with forgery.  I *am*
  51. guilty of having suggested the possibility that Adrienne was guilty
  52. of it.  But that is all.
