- Regarding the Post on Gaelic-L, I am a member of that list and the
- reply to the question on Irish names was not a "royal flame'. I have seen
- flames and believe me, that was not a flame. What it was was the result of a
- lot of discussion being unrealted to the list's purpose. The Irish names query
- was simply the proverbial straw. No warning is neccessary, but if one were to
- re-submit the request but state instead that you merely wish to know some good
- sources on Irish or Scots names, perhaps you would get a better response.
- Gaelic-L, and Welsh-L, are not source lists for searching for one's
- roots. One that MAY be better suited to this type of inquiry is Celtic-L, a
- list devoted to Celtic culture as opposed to Celtic languages.
- Yours respectfully,
- John Doucette
