  24. GENEALOG is an area on the LISTSERV computer which is used for storage
  25. of many, many textual files which pertain to genealogy.

  27. You may request a listing of the file be mailed to you by simply
  28. sending the following line to: LISTSERV@vm1.nodak.edu as the only
  29. text of a message.

  33. It normally only takes about ten minutes for the LISTSERV computer to
  34. reply, sending you a message with the entire listing of files.

  46. A "PERPETUAL" CALENDAR
  47. ======================

  49. The following information lets you find the day of the week for
  50. any date in the 1800's and 1900's.  Simply look up your year of
  51. interest in the appropriate table (1800's or 1900's), find the code
  52. letter (A to N), and then use the calendar of that letter.
  53.  
  54. For example:
  55.  
  56.    On what day of the week was 1st July 1837?
  57.  
  58.    1)  1800's table:  1837 = calendar 'A'
  59.  
  60.    2)  calendar 'A':  1st July = Saturday
  61.  
  62. (Note: this information is for the Gregorian, or New Style,
  63. calendar, which had been adopted in most countries before 1800.
  64. This includes Great Britain, most European countries, and USA.
