- To keep this short, no United States president has ever been impeached.

- In Johnson's case, the trail to impeach failed by, if I remember
- correctly, one vote. (Anyway, it was close.) Nixon was never even put on
- trail. He resigned, and he could not be impeached because he was no longer
- president. He could have been tried for other crimes (with conviction
- still a matter of debate), but Ford's pardon killed any possibility of that.
