- This is a repeat query: during the Napoleonic period the duc de Berry, son of
- the future Charles the Xth spent exile in England and Scotland; his father had
- a court in Edinburgh. He married an Englishwoman Anna Brown andh ad two
- daughters by her that entered the French Aristocracy. His family would
- not recognise the marriage and he left her in 1814 and remarried. There
- were stories in my family that there was a link to his marriage with
- Anna Brown in some way; it certainly was not through the daughters of this
- marriage. I wonder what happened to Anna Brown, did she remarry, did
- she retain his name (perhaps spelled Berrie); did they have any other children,
- particularly a son. I would be grateful if anyone with source
- material or suggestions would contact me here or directly by e-mail
