  28. I'm not either but I thought the state of Franklin was established because
  29. of Civil War differences.  It was a part of the state which was VERY
  30. pro-Union and when Tennessee seceded from the Union, the state of Franklin
  31. seceded from the state of Tennessee.  This would make its existance in the
  32. 1860's.  I have absolutely nothing to back this up -- just what I heard
  33. when I used to live in East Tennessee.  Would be interested to know what
  34. your final answer ends up being!
