- Over the years, I've found some books which list people who died
- in some of the early yellow fever epidemics. All of these are
- available in microform (microprint or microfiche), so your local
- library should be able to get them for you via interlibrary.
- Many large libraries will have these as part of the set called
- "Early American Imprints".
-
- Carey, Mathew, A Short Account of the Malignant Fever Lately
- Prevalent in Philadelphia ... (1793). Lists deaths from the
- disease from Aug. 1st to the middle of Dec.
-
- Fowell, Richard, Short History of Yellow Fever ... (1798). Early
- American Imprints # 33742. Persons who died of the disease in
- Philadelphia in Aug.-Oct. 1797.
-
- Condie, Thomas, History of the Pestilence ... (1799). Early
- American Imprints # 35335. 3,521 names of persons who died of
- yellow fever from Aug. 1 to Nov. 1st, 1798.
-
- Hardie, James, An Account of the Malignant Fever ... (1798).
- Early American Imprints # 35586. Lists persons buried in New
- York City who died from the disease from Aug. 1 to Nov. 14, 1798.
-
- New York (City) Committee on Health, Names of Persons Who Have
- Died ... of the Yellow Fever ... (1795). Early American Imprints
- # 29196. About 700 names of persons buried in New York City from
- July 29 to Nov. 1, 1795.
-
- New York (City) Committee on Health, Record of Death (1799).
- Lists victims of yellow fever in 1799 in New York City.
-
- Holt, Charles, A Short Account of Yellow Fever ... (1798). Early
- American Imprints # 33890. About 80 names of victims of the
- disease in New London, Conn.
-
- Plummer, Jonathan, The Awful Malignant Fever at Newburyport, in
- the Year 1796 (1796?). Early American Imprints # 31018. 44
- names of persons dying at Newburyport, Mass.
-
- At least one other book, published after 1800, contains a similar
- list. It is available on microfiche as part of the "Sabin"
- collection, and should also be available as part of the Early
- American Imprints, Part II, collection.
-
- Hardie, James, An Account of the Malignant Fever, Which Prevailed
- in the City of New York ... (1805). Includes deaths from the
- fall of 1805.
-
- I'm not an expert of yellow fever, but these are books which
- some researchers at the Texas A&M University Library have found
- useful. The lists, as I recall, are neither alphabetical nor
- indexed, so you may have to do some digging.
