  17. I just want to share some success with you...and the addresses that helped!

  19. In October, I queried the net about information for the D&RGW RR.  David
  20. Lowndes supplied the following address and encouragement.  With a few
  21. sketchy details, I sent a letter hoping for anything.  I was assured that
  22. I would get a response one way or the other.

  24. Dave recommended, and I concur, that you should supply as many details as
  25. possible, preferrably the person's first and last name, their SSN (if known),
  26. the RR the person worked for and the dates of employment.  If you are
  27. lucky, you may have a unique enough name, like I did, and that will be all
  28. that is necessary.  Their database has over 11 million names!
  29.  
  30. Two days before Christmas I received a letter stating that my grandfather's
  31. records had been found even though he did not work for the RR for the
  32. required time to earn a pension.  They did forward a copy of his SSN
  33. application and sent an address and PERSON to contact at the SS Administration.
