- Hi Rooters!
-
- I just want to share some success with you...and the addresses that helped!
-
- In October, I queried the net about information for the D&RGW RR. David
- Lowndes supplied the following address and encouragement. With a few
- sketchy details, I sent a letter hoping for anything. I was assured that
- I would get a response one way or the other.
-
- Dave recommended, and I concur, that you should supply as many details as
- possible, preferrably the person's first and last name, their SSN (if known),
- the RR the person worked for and the dates of employment. If you are
- lucky, you may have a unique enough name, like I did, and that will be all
- that is necessary. Their database has over 11 million names!
-
- Two days before Christmas I received a letter stating that my grandfather's
- records had been found even though he did not work for the RR for the
- required time to earn a pension. They did forward a copy of his SSN
- application and sent an address and PERSON to contact at the SS Administration.
-
- I forward these addresses to you in hopes that they will help someone else.
-
- Good Luck, All.
