  18. Thanks, for the information on Typhus.  But I do think it is incredible
  19. that we didn't have it in the Civil War.  We can be thankful for that I
  20. guess.  I know it was a problem in the prison camps in WWII.  War is such
  21. a nasty thing in so many ways.  You stated in your Marfan syndrome
  22. exchange with another person that you are a doctor.  What is your specialty?
  23. Also I noticed you spelled it "Marphan".  Are there two spellings?  I used
  24. to be a doctor's assistant so I am familar with medical terms and found
  25. the discussion quite interesting.  I am glad they didn't water it down to
  26. lay terms.

  28. Lincoln was such a great man in many ways and I find it interesting that
  29. some of our great contributors came from families with some genetic problems.
  30. For instance, Beethoven's siblings had all kinds of problems, including TB,
  31. blindness, etc.

  33. I have more than a passing interest since I have four children (two with
  34. serious genetic problems and two that have some extraordinary abilities.
  35. (In my opinion, anyway).  So genetics is an interesting subject for me and
  36. I actually worked here in the past in the Medical Genetics Department.
