  19. I'm a little gunshy about trying this, but willing to see how it
  20. goes.  I'm interested in chatting with any women online who'd
  21. like to get acquainted this way, but I confess I most hope to
  22. hear from people in the Ohio and SE Michigan area.  I wouldn't
  23. rule out getting together with someone further away if things
  24. really clicked.  I'm ready to work on establishing a lifelong
  25. relationship.

  27. Forgive the seeming lack of humility as I try to tell you enough
  28. about myself to pique the interest of, at first, a (hopefully)
  29. special email pal.  I am an intelligent, sensitive, yet easy-
  30. going 33-year-old guy with small town roots who enjoys visiting
  31. the city.  I live in northern Ohio, closer to Ann Arbor than to
  32. Cleveland.  I'm a romantic who loves to take in a sunset and am
  33. amazed at those who never notice them.  I tend to be somewhat shy
  34. especially in larger groups, yet have no difficulty in such
  35. situations when performing my role as a professor, administrator
  36. and social science researcher.  Although I have done well enough
  37. professionally, I tend to be a bit self-effacing about those
  38. accomplishments.

  40. I'm interested in politics and world events.  I'm a Democrat
  41. who's conservative financially but a liberal on many social
  42. issues.  I don't go to church as often as I should, but am proud
  43. of being raised in a congregational protestant church.  I am
  44. always interested in self-improvement and in learning about new
  45. things, a lifelong ambition.  Classical, new age, jazz and
  46. classic rock music are favorites.

  48. I consider myself physically attractive and very concerned
  49. (though not obsessed) with physical fitness and health.  I enjoy
  50. bicycling, golf, tennis, some running, occasional racquetball,
  51. and spectator sports (especially baseball, some hockey and
  52. football).  I like to kid around and have a good sense of humor
  53. when with friends.  While I generally stay away from most network
  54. television fare (except The Simpsons, Star Trek TNG, and Home
  55. Front), I enjoy meaningful movies and comedies (Woody Allen films
  56. are among my favorites and I live for the day when Major League
  57. becomes a reality).

  59. I tend to be (too?) selective in the women I date.  I am not
  60. involved with anyone at the present time.  I would like to meet
  61. an intelligent (and preferably well educated), sophisticated,
  62. optimistic, outgoing, self-confident, independent yet supportive
  63. woman who is also interested in eventually having children.  A
  64. sense of humor and a ready smile are huge pluses.  Because I hope
  65. to remain physically active as long as I live, a good companion
  66. will also be interested in sports (see above).  I'd like to meet
  67. a woman who has met her key professional goals and is ready to
  68. turn her sights on starting a family fairly soon.  Because I can
  69. be shy at times, meeting a reserved, more serious (lacking a
  70. sense of humor) woman usually doesn't work out.  I guess I
  71. believe that, oftentimes, opposites attract.
