  28. The "go West" is instructions to the *woman*. The sections of the
  29. country I were talking about were New York City and the Midwest.
  30. Here in the Midwest (where I have fortunately or unfortunately
  31. been living for the past four years) it seems that middle-aged
  32. women who are a size 20 don't date -- whatever else they have
  33. going for them. (This was very definitely not the case in the Silicon
  34. Valley.)
