- This, of course, is a very dumb law. Follows in this
- countries current trend to remove any fault from the person
- performing the action (the person doing the drinking). In NJ
- I believe this became law as a result of a court case. My
- favorite example of how dumb this law is is a NY case in which
- some guy got drunk at a bar and got into an accident. The
- drunk, or his family (I don't remember if he died in the
- accident) sued and criminal procedures were brought against
- the bartender who served the drinks, and the owner of the bar,
- who wasn't even in the bar when the drinks were served. One
- jury let the bartender go, while the owner's jury found the
- owner guilty. Isn't it wonderful when our government
- legislates morality.
