- You forgot to cosider what consequences you will encounter if you follow
- your boyfriend. This is what may happen:
-
- 1) Loss of credits due to non-acceptance of transfer units (very likely)
- 2) Mandatory residence requirement (if you're already learning 3rd and
- 4th year stuff). Basically, you will need to go through junior and
- senior year again if you have already done so partially.
- 3) Higher fees if you are leaving your home state.
- 4) Rejection from all good CS schools at the junior level.
- 5) Loss of old friends. Many life-long friends are made in college.
- 6) You may hate the new place, school, or new housing arrangements.
- 7) And what happens if you break up with your boyfriend? You are then
- SOL.
-
- UCB is a great school to transfer to for an undergrad CS education. Some
- of the other California schools are also good for undergrad CS. Email
- me for pointers on transferring to good CS schools (that's what I did) if
- you are still doing this.
-
- But if I were you, think long and hard. Don't base your decision to transfer
- solely on your boyfriend.
