  20. A friend told me that Overlooked Opinions -- the Chicago-based
  21. market research company that has a mailing-list of some 50K
  22. GLBs -- is planning to start such a long-distance service.  I
  23. don't know if they're in operation yet.

  25. Working Assets Long Distance (WALD) is a San Francisco-based
  26. provider that donates a percentage of all its revenues to
  27. "progressive" organizations, including G/L and AIDS agencies.
  28. I've used their service for about a year, and am very happy
  29. with it.  They have "free speech" days every month when you
  30. can call your Congresscritters for free -- such calls are
  31. discounted the rest of the time. They will also send letters
  32. in your name to the appropriate addressees on two burning
  33. issues every month, and bill you later -- the G/L military
  34. ban and the Republican National Convention's gay-bashing
  35. were two such issues in the past 6 months.  The same company
  36. also issues a Visa card, and runs an investment service --
  37. also donating a portion of their revenues...
