-
- }> Hmmm being new to this group I'm curious as to how many other
- }>straight guys are out there reading this who really give a damn about
- }>the issues and feelings expressed here?
-
- Well, I certainly do care. I'm het, my wife is bi, and we have friends
- of all different persuasions.
-
- }> I first read this group when
- }>a dear friend told me she is bisexual. I was concerned about her and
- }>the emotional time she was going through. I was curious about the
- }>type of lifestyle she was turning towards.
-
- Gee, the "type of lifestyle". Sounds so ominous, like she's going to
- shave her head and worship Velveeta or something. What if she told you
- she had decided she liked opera as well as rock and roll, would you
- still worry? I guess I'll never understand; maybe cause I'm het. I know
- how natural it feels for me to be attracted to women (not just sexually,
- either), and I can certainly understand how someone could be attracted
- to both men and women. What I can't understand is people who think that
- being bi is strange.
-
- }> I am very glad that I read this group. I have discovered here a
- }>network of truly caring and loving people. I am constantly reassured
- }>that my bi friend is a member of good company.
-
- If your bi friend is on this newsgroup, what you just said makes sense.
- If not, then you have no basis for believing that all bi people are as
- nice as those on this particular newsgroup; anymore than all gay or
- het people are nice. There are good and bad folks of all different
- lifestyle choices. I'd like to believe that bi people are a bit more
- accepting and easy-going than most, but then I'm prejudiced; I'm quite
- ecstaticly married to one!
