- Have you and/or Debbie come out (so to speak) and told him that
- you two fancy each other? That's a start.

- If keeping their relationship together is your primary concern,
- it might be better to mention to each of them that they discuss it,
- and then make yourself scarce until they work it out. If David has
- trouble forming relationships, he's probably terrified that you'll
- sweep in and take Debbie away. (And if you and Debbie keep doing
- what you've described, I'd give a really high chance that he'll
- become insanely jealous and act in such a way to drive Debbie away,
- most likely into the arms of her nearest MOTAS friend. If that's
- you, that would kill your friendship with the man.)
-
- Communicate. Bail out if you feel that you're a threat, and
- being sexual with Debbie isn't as important as remaining friends
- with David or keeping their relationship intact. But, in any case,
- communicate. If he's got net access, point him at alt.polyamory,
- which, even if it isn't perfect, is most likely the best bet he has
- of grokking topologically complex relationships.
