- I like to read personals ads in the local weekly rags (for amusement more
- than anything else), but the few times I've read an ad from a woman that
- sounded halfway interesting, I was always slightly dismayed to notice
- that it was in the "Women Seeking Women" columns. It's irritating as
- hell to read, in the "Women Seeking Men" columns, one description after
- another in which the first two lines routinely contain adjectives like
- "pretty", "attractive", or even, goddess help us, "Drop-Dead Gorgeous".
- (How about "Drop-Dead Boring"?) The Women-Seeking-Women ads seem to get
- more to the point: "Hang around with me, 'cuz I'm INTERESTING."
