  22. Maybe I get intimidated by people talking about sex because the ones
  23. who talk the most often seem to use it as others use politics, or
  24. sport, or computers for that matter -- as a way of removing attention
  25. from themselves.  I'm interested in the personal aspects of sexuality,
  26. just as I'm interested in the personal aspects of anything.  But as
  27. things stand I'm not particularly interested in hearing about the
  28. mechanics of it, or about the pattern of people's sexual behaviour,
  29. simply because I've essentially no experience in those directions.
  30. I'd much rather talk about who I'm attracted to or what makes me feel
  31. aroused, but those are precisely the things that seem to send some
  32. people running a mile.

  34. As for trying to tell people I'm a virgin (aaarrrrggghhh! the V-word!)
  35. I sometimes get the impression that people would be happier hearing
  36. that I'm Jack the Ripper.  I'm not asking them to do a conversion
  37. job on me, just to accept the simple fact, but for some reason
  38. people find it difficult to deal with.  And yet I didn't *choose*
  39. to be a virgin, it just happens to be the default...
