- Somewhat tangental - in one of Diane Duane's Star Trek novels, Kirk
- gets to musing about pronouns (Horta crewmember is bringing Spock some
- asteroid components data) and the subject of 'Starfleet standard gender
- designations' comes up; the Horta's is something like 'B-12 orthomale'
- which McCoy describes as 'close enough for jazz'.
