- I was talking today to my good friend who recently realized she
- is bisexual, that she is in love with another woman. She knows that I had
- rather strong feelings for her before she told me about it.
- During all the time that she's been exploring her feelings
- and learning what it means to be bisexual, I've done my best to be there
- in support. I really care for her and want with all my heart for her to
- be happy.
- So today she asks me why I stuck behind her during all this, since
- I knew she was in love with a woman. I wasn't sure how to respond at first,
- the question didn't seem to make sense. I mean, I love her and want her to
- be happy, what other reason do I need?
- But I've been thinking about why she would ask, and I've come to the
- conclusion that maybe she thinks men are only going to be interested in
- a woman if there is a chance the woman will be interested in him. What
- I'd like to know, is this a common perception of the hetero male? Are most
- hetero men seen as only being comfortable with relaitionships with other
- heterosexuals? I feel kind of embarrassed that my friend would even have
- to wonder why I was willing to remain her friend.
-
- Later daze,
-
