- It all depends.
- There are procedures for children born of US citizens abroad,
- basically its paperwork with the local US consulate/embassy.
- Generally must be done by parents at time of birth (as the
- above named individual is not able to do it themselves.)

- Dual citizenship is a tricky one, this _really_ depends.
- I don';t know for Japan, but some countries I have been in
- consider you a citizen/national if you were born there (just
- like USA) and may consider you to be subject to national
- service at age 18 unless other arrangments are made.

- of immigration and naturalization. I remember starting
- this years ago for my girlfriend with a paperwork mixup
- at her birth. Oy.
