  16. I am the author of a chapter called "Virtual Reality" for the
  17. 1993 edition of THE ANNUAL REVIEW OF INFORMATION SCIENCE AND
  18. TECHNOLOGY (vol. 28, published by Learned Information).
  19.  
  20. I would like to request pre-prints, re-prints, technical
  21. reports, or lab summaries from all persons or groups working in
  22. the field of virtual reality.
  23.  
  24. Because of the emerging nature of the field, and the relative
  25. shortage of materials on virtual reality in the "scholarly"
  26. literatures, I am seeking to insure that people who are
  27. still working on articles for journals (especially), or
  28. waiting for articles to appear, are represented in the chapter.
  29.  
  30. The only thing I do not need more of are 1-3 page summaries
  31. of existing products or technology, or longer pieces written
  32. for the popular literature (e.g.,  The Wall Street Journal
  33. or Popular Electronics).  I have done an exhaustive search
  34. on electronic databases, read all the published books & most
  35. conference proceedings, and (of course!) monitored this
  36. newsgroup.

  38. So, if you are doing work in the area of virtual reality, or a
  39. related area (computer graphics, telerobotics, management
  40. telepresence systems, hardware development...), and you have
  41. something I might have missed, please let me know about it.

  43. Reprints may be sent to my snail-net address below.  Electronic
  44. copies, in any version, may be sent to me via email.  Please
  45. let me know if the work has been submitted or accepted for
  46. publication, and of any other methods of distribution which you
  47. find acceptable.

  49. I am very happy to include mention of work in progress, or of
  50. research being done which might NOT result in publishable
  51. outcomes.  I would like to receive materials fairly soon,
  52. no later than February 10.
